Don't Look Back.


Literally. Apparently, I am determined to look ahead and move forward because every.single.time I set out to achieve a goal on the Katy Trail – I will not turn around at the half way point. When do I realize this? When I hit my goal! Last week, I was fierce when I ran my 5k on a cool, windy morning. I did it in 35 mins, shaving a minute and a half from the previous run. But big problem. I was out on the trail, 3.1 miles away from my car. Irritated? Nope. I continued with my run keeper app, turn my music up, and ran a 10k, 6.2 miles. I won’t tell you the time because it took awhile. My running was probably slower than my walking at times. But I was running. So I did it on accident. Last year, I struggled running for 8 minutes, not even a mile. I can now run 6 times more than 12 months ago. I may not be where I want to be with my running – but I am not where I used to be. That’s what matters. Nothing like a kicking playlist, hot pink Nikes, a cool breeze, and an open road to run free.
